A Week on Wings

How does one week fly by just like that?

So many things happened in the past few days that I feel like it was such a long time ago and yet so short since I was last posted here.

I said bye for the last time to a dear old lady whom I loved as my grandmother. It is hard, but I rest in the fact that she is in a far better place now, relieved of the pain and suffering of this life.

Movie Maker kept me up till early Saturday and Sunday mornings as I worked on the dive videos I had taken during my last weekend’s trip. The results are pretty satisfactory, though. More importantly, the individuals that starred in the posted videos were pretty pleased with it, so that kinda made it worth the effort. I realized making little movies is kinda like working on a digital scrapbook. Lolz.

We celebrated Mothers’ Day in a different way this year – at 12AM on Sunday morning! We went to the 24-hour Hans in Sembawang area and ate our dinner-cum-supper there. It was also Aunty Susan’s birthday, so we sang her a birthday song and ate some sumptuous brownie-cheesecake. (I’m gonna try that recipe sometime!!!) My darling niece Avril attended the event as well, fast asleep and looking totally adorable in her fuschia-striped nighties.

Last night I had dinner at a Japanese restaurant! Can you imagine having free-flow sashimi whole night longggggg?? But due to the atmosphere of the evening, the focus was not fully on the food so I did not indulge so freely as well… =P It was a partial Japanese steamboat affair, which ended up wayyy too much food for just two of us! It was fun, though. After a relaxing meal, we went up to Mt. Faber’s The Jewel Box. It’s a really cool (and expensive) place for chilling out. The open-air veranda overlooks the island’s landscape right out to the ocean, the weather was cool, and the music was familiar and soothing. I ordered a lychee martini and my friend ordered strawberry martini, but we ended up swopping. It seemed more right for me to take the red drink. We chilled there for about an hour before heading back. On the way home, there was an unexpected detour due to unfamiliar roads but it turned out well ...since I enjoy long car-rides.

Tonight is shopping time!!! I wanna check out Espirit, my ultimate FAVORITE brand. Ooohhhh my poor wallet is gonna suffer...

And and and, I and the four other ‘sisters’ are desperately trying to think of more tasks for the bride-to-be to do this Saturday night during her Bachelorette Party!!! Anyone with ideas, pleaseee throw them in =P I think it’s going to be one crazy, fun-filled night, though, and I'm looking forward to it.

Finally, just some pictures I took with my friends the other day when we met for dinner..

We decided to try out Waraku Pasta..too bad there were only 3 of us, so we couldn't get the 50% rebates off for Ladies night..
Our unanimously voted dessert! It was delicioso..."Friends who eat together stay together.."
Tucking in..
My two pretty friends, Sarah and Sal =>
A new dessert :: green tea ice-cream! (I can't remember the exact name..)
Another much anticipated dessert :: strawberry cheesecake. Yumz!

Lunch break over... time to get back to work!
