According to you

Im useless
I cant do anything right
According to you

Im a mess in a dress

even if it would save my life
According to you, according to you

But according to him
Im beautiful
incredible
he cant get me out of his head
According to him
Im funny

Everything is opposite
I dont feel like stopping it
so baby tell what i got to lose
Hes into me for everything Im not according to you

According to you

But according to him
Im beautiful

Everything is opposite
I dont feel like stopping it
baby tell what i got to lose
Hes into me for everything Im not
according to you
you you
according to you

According to you
Im stupid
Im useless
I cant do anything right.

Some songs have such catchy tunes they play over and over in your mind for the rest of the day.
And as the music lingers in your head, you start to pay more attention to the lyrics.
And in taking a closer look at the words, you begin to identify the undercurrent emotions in the message the writer is sending.
And the vibes prompt you to think.

Orianthi's According to You made me think.

Think about human nature. About people. About relationships.

Isn't it just so us to take what we have for granted?

When falling in love, it seems like we only see everything about that person that is beautiful, incredible, irresistible. Whatever the other person says or does is right or can be justified through our rose-colored spectacles. Even the stupidest things they do are "cute." The smallest gesture, a certain look, that dazzling smile..we gush and fall head over heels all over again. We can't seem to get enough of each other, can't finish counting the reasons why we love them so. We wish to spend every moment of the rest of our lives with that loved one.

Time passes.

The things we once thought were "oh-so-cute" are now simply"darn irritating." Losing focus of the things that made us fall in love with that person in the first place, our eyes become quick to pick up on the negative points instead. Suddenly, the person's faults become glaringly obvious while the small acts of tenderness go by unnoticed. Where once we wouldn't dream of not going anywhere together, we now strain against the bonds of love, fighting for our own space. Instead of fully appreciating that person for who he or she is, we take them for granted. And thus the little fissures in a once rock-solid relationship appears.

"It was all going so well... what happened?" We ask ourselves, puzzled.

What happened was that we forgot why we fell in love with that person in the first place.

It wasn't something we did on purpose, not some devious, well thought-through plan. It was simply human nature. What is ours to have, we tend to take for granted.

I wonder, if we were to write down a list of all the things that made us fall head-over-heels for our loved one and reminded ourselves and our beloved of it time and again, would it add to the strength of the relationship? When the light-headed giddiness of a crush has been sobered by time and reality, can we still single out the qualities that first attracted us to that person? And some ten, twenty years down the road, will we look over and once again catch our breath, more deeply in love than ever with that incredible one who stole our hearts from the first moment we embarked down a new path together?

I so very much hope so

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

I thought January was busy, but February seems out to surprise me... and my OT page is keeping count.

But "busy" is a good status to have, even if it seems intent on becoming a permanent one. It means you'll always have something to throw your heart and mind into. It means the end of your day brings satisfaction of a job well done. It means your life has meaning, has fulfillment, has goals that you are working towards.

It also means you have a valid reason to play hard.

And considering the fact that CNY hols are here, that is not such a bad thing at all.

Know what's the thing I love best about reunion dinners (besides the "reunion" part with my cuzzins, duh)?
Lo Hei!
Our first of several family reunion dinners over this CNY period was on Friday night(:
HUAT AHHHH!!!!
Tradition has it that the higher you toss the salad, the greater your luck and prosperity in the new year. I guess this year's gonna be pretty lucky, then.
And finally, the beautiful mess. With my favorite chunks of raw fish buried under like hidden treasure chests.
Another A-Typical component of a CNY reunion dinner - Chinese Tea.
Oh, and the SCALLOPS.. We certainly couldn't miss out on the scallops course, although I'm not sure whether they hold any actual CNY symbolism except maybe "Hey, we Chinese like to enjoy the food delicacies that are served!" Aniway, the point is, they were mucho delicioso, and picture worthy, although what can actually be seen of them under the generous camouflage of garlic and oil remains to be seen.

There was some other seven or eight courses, but evidently the camera-taker was too busy SAVOURING them to actually take pictures. *ahem*
Siblings that eat together stay together.

Maybe.
Generally.
I guess.
In our case, YES.

Wokies, moving on.
The Younger Generation Table!

And then after our reunion dinner on Friday night, we went to celebrate the birthday of an incredible woman.
Love u, Mom!
One-Caramel is THE place to go for cakes and chill outs.
They even script words on the plates and sing "Happy Birthday" upon request!
And their juices...Besides looking like they're straight out from a laboratory, thumbs up!
Richhhhh.
I hope she enjoyed the surprise celebration(: (And now that I think about it, she's probably gonna kill me if she sees that pronoun "She"....ya know, that "Don't refer to your Mom as "She" coz it's rude" pet peeve of hers? Nope, the rules haven't changed around here.)

So now it is four days of complete bliss and relaxation in KL for the CNY holidays. And not one single bit of brain space going to waste on anything work-related.

"Payback time is a dish best served cold," the guy from Eight Below said.

My sentiments exactly. Now is the time to play hard, right right RIGHT?(:

**That was an expensive photo she took while leaving the Ipoh waterfalls just now! Sing tiaaaaa to the max....**
